This is the history of an area in Woodbridge, Connecticut – part of the West River Valley, which today is called ” Village of Woodbridge” but during its agricultural years it was known as “The Flats“.
The area got the name for the simple reason that it is a vast wide open flat region perfect for farming. There were many family farms located in what is now the commercial area of Woodbridge.
